Exciting times...

I finally learned some of the basics of photoshop. In this world it seems like everyone should be able to use it, but frankly I've never found it very intuitive. All of the sudden I decided my store needed a better banner and that I would redo it. I was originally going to do it all manually and then scan it. (I mean MANUALLY) I was going to paint the banner, paint the characters, cut the characters out and then glue them to the background and scan it all in. Then I would only have to digitally cut it to size and add the text. When I realized how much I'd have to cut, I thought I'd give photoshop one more try. And voila! Here is my new banner. I am so proud, you have no idea. Of course my daughter is pretty excited too since she is the little girl in the grass. (She says I painted her to look like Alice in Wonderland when she's laying in the grass)
It was actually hard to get rid of the old banner since Laurel helped me pick out the chick drawing for it. I drew about a dozen and she scrutinized over them for a while before finally picking the one she liked best. But, regardless of the sentimentality I LOVE my new banner.

Plus, there is a double dose of new banners because I've also created a new store. It's not up and running yet but I hope to have it functional by next Monday. I love this banner too. It's hard not to love them when I get to look at the people I love. The new store (Just Us Chickens Bakery) will be selling baked goods made with natural ingredients. Specifically the niche market of fresh ground whole grains. I will also be featuring more natural versions of some of everyday items; sucanat instead of traditional sugar, mineral and sea salts (that haven't been processed and bleached), coconut oil, local honey, etc. I can't wait to get started. I'm trying to get all of my packaging materials together so that I'm ready to hit the ground running. I'm also formulating a promotion for the shop's opening. I think I'll make up some mini-tote-bag purses with funny characters on them and ship them free with purchases of the baked goods. I'm not sure how many I'll do yet, I guess as many as I can make before then. I'm excited though, really excited.

Alright, enough out of me. Here are the new banners, let me know if you like them.
